My Foundation

I am Dr. Nikki Parr, an educator with 25 years of experience and a former trustee of the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District. I was raised in Solano County and attended H. Glenn Richardson Elementary, Grange Middle School, and Fairfield High School. My father served at Travis Air Force Base and retired as a Chief Master Sergeant, while my mother taught English at Grange Middle School until her retirement in 2004 after nearly 25 years of service.
I am married to Terrell Parr, a former welder and pipefitter with Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 343. Today, Terrell is a Career Technical Education Teacher with the Solano County Office of Education, where he teaches construction trades at Evergreen Academy in the Solano Juvenile Detention Center and at Golden Hills Community School in Fairfield. Together, we are proud parents of three sons.
Experience and Commitment

I earned my Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science degrees from Old Dominion University, followed by an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership and Management from George Washington University in Virginia. I began my career teaching in Virginia Beach, where I spent six years in the classroom before transitioning into school leadership. More than a decade later, my husband and I moved to Fairfield to be closer to family, giving me the opportunity to serve the educational community that shaped my own upbringing. I spent eight years as an Alternative Education Principal and Director of Student Services for the Vacaville Unified School District. In 2014, I joined the Solano County Office of Education as Program Coordinator for homeless and foster youth services. During this time, I also earned my Doctor of Education degree from Capella University. I later served as Senior Director of Student Services and Educational Options before being appointed Superintendent of Schools.
Throughout my decades in education, I have witnessed both the challenges our schools face and their incredible potential to uplift every student. As a proud graduate of Solano County public schools, I am committed to ensuring that every student has access to a high-quality education. Strengthening our educational system and fostering meaningful partnerships among students, teachers, parents, and the community are essential to the success of our county.
